Post Natal Recovery: Best Gifts for a new Mum

Reminiscing about when my children where born as my due date draws nearer 💕

One of my best friends has just had her second baby and another one is due soon and like lots of groups of friends we club together to get a gift for the mum-to-be at this exciting time. It’s interesting to see in the 7 years since I had my daughter (most of my friends now have 1, 2 or 3 children) how the types of things we gift each other have changed. With my first I was given so many lovely bunches of flowers and cute outfits for the bub (see pic 3) which although massively appreciated (and I don’t want to sound ungrateful!) don’t have the longevity or focus on the #postnatal recovery that is often so needed at this time.


Nowadays we give presents that we know (through our gained wisdom of having kids) are exactly what a new mum needs. A package of nourishing food from the Food Doula/ Bcn Hungry Mamas to stock the freezer, a massage from Cowshed and even a voucher for a cleaner when my friend had twins! The essential and valuable components of Fourth Trimester/ Postpartum recovery. Healing touch, restorative food and help, love and support from others.
