A Mindful Suggestion for Busy People
I don't know about you but my phone is my constant companion. Guilty as charged. I'm far too quick to pull it out and check it if I ever have a spare moment/ down time/ waiting in a queue/ kids playing nicely together for one whole minute.
But you can use your phone and this pull to the online world to actually help you be more #mindful. Use it as a trigger. Whenever you feel the itch to check it (or whatever social media addiction we have and let's face it we all do) use that feeling. Notice that feeling. And just for 1min rather than scrolling, just stop and check in rather than out.
Check in with the world around you at that moment. The noise, the smells, the sensations.
Check in with your breath.
Check in with how you're feeling.
Notice. Be aware. Be present. Just for 1 minute.
Then go back to your phone game.
This small habit. This training of our mind for one small moment. Could lead to big changes. Try it? I'm going to give it a whirl too. Let me know how you get on will you?
